Panoramic top recruiter!
Clarence Medical Centre in Rhyl, which serves as Wales’ hub site for the UK-wide PANORAMIC clinical study, has been named top hub recruiter in 2023.
The PANORAMIC trial, led by Oxford University and delivered in Wales by Public Health Wales, Health and Care Research Wales and Cardiff University, is looking into new antiviral treatments for COVID-19 aimed at reducing the need for hospital admission.
Almost 1,800 Welsh participants have been recruited into the study since the launch of the trial.
Dr Selena Harris, from Clarence Medical Centre, said: “We are proud to have been top recruiters in many of the research studies we have participated in, putting Rhyl on the map for research in primary care.
“Without our efforts Wales would not have been included in this UK wide trial - we’ve given our patients in Wales equal opportunity to the rest of the UK.”
The PANORAMIC trial is currently recruiting participants from all over Wales – for more information and to read the celebratory articles on PANORAMIC, please visit the website.

We would like to thank the patients at Clarence Medical Centre who have taken part in this study.
